Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist

- Pay Rate: Dependant on experience. Guideline of £25 per hour (PAYE)
Sheffield City Council are seeking a Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to join their dynamic Commercial and Performance Services team. This role is specifically within the Business & Professional Services & IT Category team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT procurement and commercial contracts, and experience managing Call Off's via Public Sector frameworks.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work as a member of the team responsible for the management of the Council’s Strategic Contracts & Procurement activity.
- Ensure that procurements are aligned with contractual arrangements.
- Address supplier performance issues including cost, quality, and delivery.
- Engage with multiple internal clients and external suppliers, ensuring high levels of organisation and communication.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all procurement and contract management processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Awareness and understanding of the whole life cycle of procurement.
- Knowledge of contract management processes and supplier management.
- Experience in Contracts and Purchasing either in the public or private sector.
- Understanding of Local Government/public sector procurement regulations and requirements, such as competitive tendering, value for money, and the role of procurement in delivering best value and efficiency.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
