Salary £55 000 - £70 000

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Procurement Manager to lead our client’s procurement function and drive the department forward. This is a strategic and operational role, ideal for someone who thrives on building strong supplier partnerships, solving problems creatively, and leading a team to deliver excellence in buying and supply chain performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Supplier Management

Lead all procurement activities, with a focus on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.

Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and innovation.

Identify and onboard new suppliers aligned with our sustainability and quality standards.

Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans where necessary.

Conduct regular market analysis to ensure competitive pricing and supply continuity.

Buying & Inventory

Oversee the end-to-end buying process, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.

Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to avoid stock outs and overstocking.

Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and post-Brexit trade requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.

Problem Solving & Innovation

Take a hands-on approach to resolving supply chain challenges and bottlenecks.

Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, leveraging AI and digital tools.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and NPD teams to bring new

products to market.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in buying, supplier negotiations, and team leadership.

Strong analytical and commercial skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Experience in FMCG or food industry.
