A hugely exciting opportunity to join our organisation the successful applicant will be responsible for embedding a new sourcing and procurement model within ALD Automotive | LeasePlan. The scope of this area covers the management of all primary spend areas with a real focus on core the operational supply chain categories (vehicle purchase, order fulfilment & delivery, and in-life services).

This is a high-profile division and role at a time when procurement and supply chain management is a core strategic pillar within the Group and UK business.

Key Purpose

• Lead the design and embedment of a new Procurement model into ALD Automotive UK. This includes a diverse range of accountability including (but not limited to):
• Overseeing all procurement and sourcing activity
• Enhancing supplier monitoring and reporting to drive a range of positive outcomes from business compliance through to operational performance.
• Acting as the primary business interface and SME for all procurement and sourcing activity with a goal to upskill.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Working with the head of function to jointly design, build and improve the existing procurement operating model to ensure goods and services are procured diligently to meet business objectives in compliance with local policy and best practice. Revise and refresh the procurement plan periodically to set clear business goals.
• Act a core stakeholder or lead for all primary 3rd party supply chain sourcing activity (ranging from complex strategic projects through to more standard renewals).
• Ensure supplier and spend monitoring is completed to time and quality, and when combined with effective GR / audit compliance, business confidence in the UK risk management approach is maintained.
• Enhance both team and business reporting to meet all stakeholder goals, but also strive to combine and interrogate data further to inform procurement strategy and continuous improvements.
• Introduce a range of tools and support mechanisms to ensure smaller sourcing activity can be self-served by colleagues locally within the business.
• Take ownership of the ALD UK Procurement Policy ensuring it is maintained and fit for purpose, at all times whilst embedding the principles within the business to ensure both understanding and compliance.
• Look into introducing category management methodology with the aim to build sector specialisms across the business. Look to aggregate disparate activities (where applicable) and propose new solutions.
• Leverage technology to introduce (or enhance existing systems) to deliver new business efficiencies right across the procurement department from contract management through to sourcing systems and supplier monitoring.

Skills, Experience & Background

• Strong procurement and/or supply chain management experience (relevant qualifications or accreditations beneficial)
• Excellent relationship (and stakeholder) management skills - with the ability to shape and influence change.
• A commercial mindset (underpinned by negotiation and contractual management experience)
• Robust data analysis and reporting skills (including being able to use information effectively to inform strategy and / or decisions).
• Excellent business planning and work organisation with superior 'manage self’ capabilities.
• Experience of embedding risk and compliance principles to deliver both opportunity and manage risk
• Ability to work at pace and delivery focused timescales
• A 'leadership’ outlook with the ability to coach and empower others easily
