You will take on a varied and rewarding caseload of probate and estate administration matters while also supporting the wider private client team. The firm offers a warm, collaborative working culture and encourages flexibility, progression, and autonomy.The role will include but is not limited to:
- Managing a caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction to conclusion
- Preparing applications for Grants of Probate/Letters of Administration
- Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and HMRC
- Advising on inheritance tax issues and preparing relevant forms
- Distributing estate assets and preparing estate accounts
- Supporting more complex private client matters alongside senior colleagues
- Assisting with mentoring and supporting junior team members where appropriate
- Contributing to business development efforts to help grow the department's client base
About You:
- Proven experience handling probate and estate administration files independently
- Strong understanding of inheritance tax, trusts, and the administration of estates
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or experienced non-qualified probate fee earner
- STEP qualification or working towards STEP (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- A collaborative team player with a positive and professional attitude
