Job Description :

This London based law firm are currently seeking a talented Associate to fill a position within their esteemed funds & secondaries team, a part of the private equity group.

The firm's expertise spans corporate, commercial litigation and arbitration, employment, pensions and private wealth, finance, marine and international trade, and real estate and projects.

About the Team

  • The team has doubled in size over the past four years, emerging as the fastest-growing team within the firm both in terms of headcount and revenue.
  • While all Associates in the team are encouraged to work across a broad spectrum of partners to diversify their expertise, this role will primarily focus on private equity secondaries transactions.
  • The team stands out from the majority of investment funds practices by specializing in complex continuation vehicle secondaries transactions, with their secondaries partners being Tier 1 ranked by Chambers & Partners in this field.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and negotiating fund documentation with clarity and precision.
  • Conducting legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources.
  • Establishing and expanding an informal internal and external network of contacts.
  • Participating in business development and profile-raising events.

Attributes/Skills Required:

  • Experience as a private equity transactional Lawyer, preferably in private company M&A and secondaries transactions.
  • Capacity to acquire, consolidate, and apply fundamental legal knowledge.
  • While prior exposure to secondaries acquisitions is advantageous, a deep understanding of private equity fund structures is not a prerequisite for this role. However, a background in private company and private equity M&A is essential to actively participate in a transactional capacity.
  • Collaborative and cooperative approach, adept at developing excellent working relationships.
  • Outstanding academic and professional qualifications.
