Year 2 Teacher - Maternity Cover

• Job Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover (End of September until the end of the academic year)

We are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our vibrant school in the Pendle area for a maternity cover position. This role is ideal for someone who has experience with Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing, as well as working with children from a range of EAL (English as an Additional Language) backgrounds.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of Year 2 students, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
• Implement Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing approaches to enhance students' literacy skills.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to suit individual needs.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that accommodates students from diverse EAL backgrounds.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably with Year 2 students.
• Familiarity with Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing methodologies.
• Experience working with children from EAL backgrounds.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment.
