Year 2 Teacher - Maternity Cover

We are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our vibrant school in the Pendle area for a maternity cover position. This role is ideal for someone who has experience with Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing, as well as working with children from a range of EAL (English as an Additional Language) backgrounds.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of Year 2 students, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
- Implement Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing approaches to enhance students' literacy skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to suit individual needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that accommodates students from diverse EAL backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably with Year 2 students.
- Familiarity with Red Rose Phonics and Talk for Writing methodologies.
- Experience working with children from EAL backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment.
