SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join our primary school team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Strategic Leadership Team to foster an achievement culture, ensuring all children, particularly those with special educational needs, receive a high-quality education and have the opportunity to make significant progress.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of SEND provision throughout the school.
  • Teach SEND children as required in KS1 or KS2.
  • Support teachers and learning support staff in identifying effective teaching approaches for pupils with SEND.
  • Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Liaise with other schools to ensure continuity of support and learning for transferring pupils with SEND.
  • Set targets for raising achievement among pupils with SEND and collect and interpret specialist assessment data.
  • Keep parents and carers informed about their child’s progress and develop understanding of learning needs among pupils.
  • Provide training and disseminate good practice in SEND across the school.
  • Manage the SEND budget and advise on resource allocation to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a valid teaching certification/license.
  • Proven experience as a SENCO or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
  • SENCO Award 
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience with SEND strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff and disseminate good practice.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Salary : 173.08 - 192.31
