Special Educational Needs Support Assistant
- Salary Range: £16,921 - £23,130 Actual Annual Salary
- Location: Plymouth
- Job Type: Permanent, Part-time, Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
- Contract Hours: 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the learning of identified children with special educational needs, requiring additional adult support. This is a vital role within our educational framework, guided by the school’s SENDCo.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide targeted support under the direction of the SENDCo.
- Engage in regular review meetings to track and discuss pupils' progress.
- Implement effective strategies to aid learning and development.
- Foster an environment that promotes independence and boosts self-esteem.
- Motivate and engage pupils to achieve positive learning outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience or working knowledge of supporting children with special educational needs.
- Familiarity with effective strategies and approaches for SEN support.
- Ability to use initiative in various teaching scenarios.
- Strong motivational skills to engage and inspire learning among pupils.
- Commitment to promoting independence and self-esteem in pupils.
