Job Description :

Milk Education are working in partnership with a secondary school based in Hackney who are seeking to appoint a Positive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support their students with Special Educational Neeeds.  The role will involve working with students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties and challenges and therefore, strong behaviour management is absolutely essential.

Purpose of the role:

  • To play an active role in managing the behaviour and emotions of SEMH and ASC students on a day-to-day basis.
  • To work under the direction of the Lead and Deputy to implement ongoing behavioural and emotional interventions and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout the school. 
  • To provide pastoral support to a designated group of students.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support via reflective and restorative practice.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and review of Individual Behaviour Plans and Risk Assessments for a designated group of students.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students. 
  • Promote good student behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.  

The school would ideally like to arrange trial's this side of Half Term with the view for successful candidates to start on a full-time basis as of 3rd May.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a trial day followed by an intevriew with the Senco.
