Job Description :

I am currently recruiting for a Strategic Portfolio Support Officer to play a pivotal role within the team, supporting the successful delivery of strategic change initiatives across the organisation. As part of the Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO), you will collaborate with project and programme management professionals to ensure effective implementation of controls, processes, and reporting mechanisms. Your work will directly contribute to the achievement of our portfolio objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Support: Provide comprehensive support to Project, Programme, and Change Management professionals within the SPO. This includes organising workshops, attending project meetings, maintaining project documentation, and producing project highlight reports.
  • Portfolio Health Reporting: Assemble and maintain a repository of portfolio health data. Use your advanced Excel skills to create accessible performance visualisations for regular portfolio reports.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Engage and coordinate with key project stakeholders to facilitate effective project communications.
  • Administrative Tasks: Support the broader Strategy Office with general and ad hoc administrative tasks.

Skills and Experience (Essential):

  • Demonstrable understanding of project management or experience working within a project environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, with advanced skills in Excel for manipulating and interpreting datasets.
  • Ability to work comfortably with financial data.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing multiple projects or areas of work simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results at pace.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of ownership.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification in portfolio, programme, or project management (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation, MSP Foundation).

Technical Proficiency:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with MS Project and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of public sector financial procedures.

An attractive hourly rate of £14.71 to £15.86 (PAYE) or £19.57 (Via umbrella).
