Join Greater London Authority as a Policy and Projects Officer focusing on Democratic Participation. This role is crucial in increasing voter registration rates among under-registered and under-represented Londoners, building awareness and trust in the democratic system, and supporting a range of communications, events, and projects to strengthen active citizenship.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Deliver and support the GLA Civic and Democratic Participation programme, focusing on under-registered and under-represented communities.
- Engage with internal and external partners to support programme delivery through various activities.
- Engage and support stakeholders from public, voluntary, and private sectors, outlining the benefits of collaboration on flagship projects and campaigns.
- Develop and maintain effective procedures for information collation, monitoring, and reporting to facilitate its use in relevant strategies and programmes.
- Contribute to policy advice and briefings for internal and external stakeholders, including handling public correspondence.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication about the programme, including through social media platforms and the GLA Democracy Hub.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in partnership with public sector agencies, community groups, and the private sector.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering initiatives to agreed targets and timescales.
- Experience in planning and organising partnership, engagement, and communication activities involving diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity, serving London's diverse communities in a policy and projects role.
- Knowledge of democratic participation policy, electoral and charity law is desirable.
