Job Description :

Reed is hiring on behalf of a national plant hire company, recruiting for a commercially minded Sales Support Executive on a full time, permanent remote basis.

This newly created role is designed to drive business development strategies, increase sales revenue, and expand market share across the UK. The successful candidate will work remotely, supported by our client's management team in Somerset and their depot in the Midlands, with all necessary technology and office equipment provided.

It is essential that you come from a plant hire, construction tool or equipment sector, based in the UK (excluding Scotland and Wales due to custom base) and are happy to undertake sales admin, quotations, customer enquiries duties alongside generating new business and managing those accounts. You’re not required to be field based visiting clients in this role unless you deem absolutely necessary to get a deal signed.

Package: Competitive base salary £35,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience + commission based on generating any new business + team performance

Duties:

  • Proactively research and generate new leads within the plant hire, construction, and infrastructure sectors
  • Prepare and send tailored quotes, proposals, and hire/sale agreements
  • Qualify opportunities, make contact via phone, email, and LinkedIn, and secure sales appointments
  • Maintain and update CRM with activity, feedback, and pipeline forecasts
  • Follow up on leads, track outcomes, and close deals to meet monthly targets
  • Support marketing initiatives including email campaigns and lead generation projects
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and on-time delivery
  • Attend industry events and exhibitions where relevant
  • Provide holiday cover for the sales and operations team, including general admin, order processing, liaising with yard and logistics staff, raising invoices, processing delivery documentation, and handling incoming orders and enquiries

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, and account management within the construction sector (B2B)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in outbound sales, cold calling, and lead follow-up
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet targets
  • Organised and results-driven with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of temporary access systems, timber mats, or construction site equipment
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to assist across the business
  • Experience using LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Excel, and CRM platforms (Sage desirable)
