Planned Property Surveyor

Hourly Rate: £40 per hour

Location: South London 

Job Type: Temporary, Ongoing

We are seeking a skilled Planned Property Surveyor to join a large social housing provider in South Londonn. This role is crucial for conducting a range of surveying tasks including stock condition surveys, damp and mould surveys, and other property inspections. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct stock condition and damp & mould surveys, identifying and assessing issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as moisture meters and thermal imaging equipment to assess the extent of problems and potential causes.
  • Diagnose causes of dampness and severity, including condensation, rising damp, penetrating damp, or plumbing leaks.
  • Provide clear recommendations on appropriate remedial actions or repairs to resolve damp and mould problems.
  • Prepare and submit detailed survey outcome reports using I-Auditor, ensuring findings are detailed and supported with appropriate photographs, categorisations, and justifications for works.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, providing them with practical advice on prevention and treatment, and addressing their concerns throughout the investigation process.
  • Assist in identifying patterns in damp and mould issues across the housing portfolio to inform long-term asset management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including Consultation & Commercial, Procurement teams as part of the S20 consultation process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level building qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in Building Surveying, stock condition surveying, and Damp & Mould surveying.
  • Experience working with Housing Associations/local authorities or other relevant sectors.
  • Strong technical ability and HSE experience.
  • Knowledge of current statutory regulations and codes of practice.
  • Ability to write comprehensive & accurate reports and display professionalism at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
