Pharmacy Technician - Meridian Business Support : Job Details

We are currently recruiting for an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to work Monday to Friday DAYS for a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer where you will be dispensing and accurately checking controlled drugs based in their premises in West Moseley, easily accessible by public transport and there is free onsite parking too!This Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician role is permanent working Monday to Friday 10am-7pm with one hour’s lunch break daily, offering a salary up to £35,000 per annum plus annual bonus and other excellent benefits as below!As Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician, you will be working within their internal pharmacy onsite reporting into the Pharmacy Manager and providing leadership to the Pharmacy Assistants (8 employees) coordinating and managing end to end receipt, processing and accurately checking the dispatch of prescriptions for controlled drugs. Key responsibilities will include:

• Carry out accuracy checking of dispensed items (controlled drugs)
• Supervise the dispensary team to ensure everyone is carrying out their jobs correctly
• Reviewing prescription requirements and liaising with the clinic and prescribers to resolve any issues
• Assist with counselling patients on their medication and patient engagement to the service
• Ensure that Patient Medication Records (PMR’s) are maintained accurately to ensure patient safety and accurate record of supply whilst complying with current data protection requirements.
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals to assist in the continuity of patient care and streamline the prescription process
• Answer queries on the supply and availability of medicines (within competence) and be able to select and recommend suitable products providing advice on their correct use
• Identify medicine related problems or queries and bring these to the attention of the pharmacist
• Involved in stock transfer requests and monitoring shelf life of stock held on site
• Setting up of new product codes
• Maintaining/ producing management reports on prescription activity
• Recording details of enquiries, comments, complaints, and actions taken
• Carrying out administrative tasks relating to Import/ Export of CBM’s Directing requests and unresolved issues to the designated person

We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a pharmacy environment
• NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Dispensing / Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)
• Registered with the GPHC
• ACT qualification - desirable although not essential
• Experience of interacting with patients and working as a member of a team
• IT literate - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office, SAP would be advantageous, and accurate keyboarding skills
• Organised person who is able to prioritise their workload and lead the team
• Excellent command of the English language
• Logical approach
