  • Hourly Rate: £16.43 PAYE
  • Location: Bolton, BL1 1RU
  • Duration: 3 months
  • Working Hours: 9am till 5pm

We are seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive and confidential support to the Chief Officers and their teams at Bolton Council. This role is crucial for the day-to-day delivery of coordinated executive and strategic support, enabling our leadership to effectively discharge their functions and achieve strategic aims.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage diaries, correspondence, and phone calls for the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and Departmental Leadership Teams (DLTs), ensuring tasks are prioritized and delegated appropriately.
  • Track, implement, and progress chase all actions and requests arising from the work of the CLT and DLTs, serving as the first point of contact.
  • Arrange and manage external appointments and seminars, including attending meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other strategic support materials.
  • Administer emails for CLT and DLTs, drafting routine responses and managing follow-up actions to meet corporate standards.
  • Coordinate administrative and operational logistics for meetings, including travel arrangements and resource bookings.
  • Develop and maintain secure and effective data recording and filing systems.
  • Provide cover and support across the Council’s Leadership Support function as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or similar role, preferably within a corporate or public sector environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling high-level enquiries.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with electronic data management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to provide support outside of normal working hours if necessary.
