Plymouth - Hybrid Working

Are you passionate about developing people, driving performance, and embedding best-practice people management across dynamic teams? We're seeking a confident and experienced Performance, Learning & Development person to take ownership of our clients performance processes and employee development.

This is a role for a HR or Learning & Development professional who thrives on enabling others, building capability, and ensuring consistent standards of people management. You will work closely alongside delivery managers to champion key people practices including:

  • Goal-setting and performance tracking
  • Professional Development Plans (PDPs)
  • Career progression conversations and talent mapping
  • Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
  • Wellbeing and absence management
  • Workforce planning

This is an exciting opportunity to embed a culture of accountability, progression, and development, shaping the employee experience from recruitment to retention.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading on all formal performance and development processes across the department
  • Attending structured monthly 1:1s alongside line managers to provide clarity and alignment
  • Creating and maintaining individual development plans and career pathways
  • Managing and supporting formal performance processes (e.g. PIPs)
  • Acting as the first point of contact for wellbeing concerns and absence reporting
  • Supporting recruitment activity, including interviews, onboarding and probation reviews
  • Monitoring team trends in performance, capability, and capacity to support operational efficiency
  • Ensuring consistency of messaging, expectations, and support across teams

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience managing for performance and development
  • A strong grasp of HR and employment best practices
  • Experience in a commercial or client-focused environment, ideally within services or consulting
  • Experience leading end-to-end recruitment and onboarding
