Payroll Team Leader (6-Month FTC)
Job Description:
You will lead the payroll team, providing payroll advice and support to the team and clients in accordance with legislation, agreed policies, procedures, and SLAs. This will also include working to strict processing deadlines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the payroll team, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll processing.
- Client Interaction: Provide payroll advice and support to clients, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
- Escalation Point: Act as the first point of contact for any escalations within the team.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee the processing of payroll data received from client HR departments/line managers, including starters, leavers, pay reviews, pay adjustments, sickness, change of hours, deputising, and payment of allowances.
- Query Resolution: Promptly and effectively answer telephone and e-mail queries from clients, employees, and third parties.
- Workload Management: Manage the team's workload, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Deadline Adherence: Ensure the team meets tight deadlines regarding cut-off dates.
- Data Accuracy: Check data for self and colleagues’ work, providing an audit trail of events.
- Service Delivery: Ensure all targets for service delivery are met and where possible, exceeded.
- Compliance: Adhere to the Data Protection Act, client confidentiality, policies and procedures, and quality management requirements.
- Support and Training: Provide training and support to team members, ensuring continuous development and improvement.
- Additional Duties: Assist with any other duties as required.
