Payroll Officer
  • Hourly rate: £16.28 per hour

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Length of role: Initial 9 months

As a Payroll Officer, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, enhancing the employee experience by delivering people-centered services. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process payroll for over 8,000 individuals monthly, ensuring all payroll administration tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Calculate pay in accordance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines, including family leave, timesheet data, and other pay-related activities.
  • Provide support and guidance on payroll and employment terms to managers, employees, and customers.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the payroll team, staying updated with industry changes and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Utilize digital technology effectively, including integrated HR and Payroll software (SAP), Customer Relationship Management systems, and Microsoft Professional applications, to meet service requirements.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are met, providing accurate and timely responses to queries.
  • Prioritize work effectively and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Take personal responsibility for your area of work, sharing best practices and identifying improvement areas within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the roles and responsibilities within a busy payroll team.
  • Experience with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, tax, national insurance, and pension contributions.
  • Proficiency in using digital technology and software such as HR and Payroll systems (SAP), CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, administration, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage one's own workload.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Salary : 15.25 - 16.28
