The Role:
As Payroll Officer, you'll play a vital role in the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll. From onboarding new starters to ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies, your attention to detail and communication skills will be key.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly payroll from start to finish
* Administer pay in line with relevant agreements
* Set up new starters and process leavers, including termination and redundancy payments
* Manage statutory payments including SMP, SPP, SSP and Occupational Sick Pay
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure clear communication and adherence to deadlines
* Resolve payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
* Maintain accurate payroll records and filing systems
* Produce payroll reports for use across the business
* Ensure compliance with payroll and pension legislation and company policies
* Communicate with external bodies such as HMRC, courts, and pension providers
About You:
* At least 2 years of payroll experience
* Strong understanding of current payroll and pension legislation
* Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Organised, professional, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
