Venn Group are currently recruiting for an interim Payroll Officer in Bedfordshire. This will be offered on a part-time basis for approximately 6 months with 20 hours over 5 days, Monday to Friday.
The position supports the delivery of with direction from the Payroll Manager, input and process all salary matters to ensure a timely and accurate monthly pay run.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to refine payroll practices, ensuring they are efficient and comply with audit standards.
- Provide expert interpretation of guidelines from NJC, LGA, DWP, and HMRC to maintain accurate payroll operations.
- Perform detailed calculations for payroll-related inquiries, including FOI requests, audits, and financial analyses.
- Process compensation claims such as overtime and expenses, verifying adherence to contractual agreements and policies.
- Manage payroll data for personnel changes, ensuring secure and precise payment transactions.
- Coordinate with HR to align sick, maternity, and other leave payments with policy requirements, ensuring correct remuneration.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly, in accordance with legal and procedural frameworks.
- Communicate with pension administrators regarding payroll reconciliations to guarantee precise contribution calculations.
- Support the Payroll Manager in monthly payroll audits to detect and rectify any discrepancies.
To be considered for this pivotal role, you will have in depth experience working in a payroll environment and experience of interpreting DWP and HRMC regulations and providing advice to employees and managers.
