Payroll and Pensions Manager?? Location: Leatherhead- parking provided near to the office- close to Leatherhead train station?? Full-Time- Temporary initially but you can be considered for the permanent role?? Hourly rate: £25.00- £30.00 per hour? Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week- Hybrid working available but ideally office based.Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional with a passion for process improvement and stakeholder engagement? We’re looking for a Payroll and Pensions Manager to lead our payroll operations and drive strategic enhancements across our systems and policies.
Key Responsibilities• Lead payroll-related projects, including policy reviews affecting benefits, sick pay, and overtime.• Develop and maintain payroll processes, procedures manuals, and system functionality to maximise efficiency.• Ensure compliance with National Minimum Wage regulations.• Manage timely follow-up on timesheets and approvals.• Respond to payroll queries and escalate when necessary.• Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure seamless communication.• Authorise and transmit BACS payments within required deadlines.• Support the HR Operations Leader – People Services in delivering the People & Culture Strategy.• Oversee all year-end payroll processing.• Prepare month-end payroll journals and accruals for Business Partners and the Head of Finance.• Validate reports for statutory payments and deductions.• Manage auto-enrolment and pension contribution submissions.• Generate and distribute online payslips.• Overseeing the payroll for over 1,000 employees, both bank staff on shifts and monthly salaried staff.
What We’re Looking For• Proven experience in payroll and pensions management.• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.• Proficiency in payroll systems and reporting tools.• Ability to lead projects and implement process improvements.
