Job Description

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking to take ownership of a busy and varied client portfolio? A well-established accountancy practice in Stockport is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their growing team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing payroll services for over 180 client payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for 180+ clients.
• Managing auto-enrolment pension submissions and RTI reporting.
• Handling starters, leavers, P45s, P60s, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP).
• Liaising with HMRC and pension providers.
• Providing expert advice to clients on payroll queries and legislative changes.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring GDPR compliance.

About You

• Proven experience in a payroll role, ideally within a bureau or accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Proficient in payroll software (experience with BrightPay or similar is advantageous).
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Confident communicator with a proactive, client-focused approach.
