In short, I'm partnering with an iconic and fast-growing logistics firm who's seeking a payroll professional who wants to be part of the projects and grow with the business.  The Role:As Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you'll take ownership of payroll operations and be the vital link between their people, HR & finance teams, along with their outsourced payroll provider. Your mission: to deliver a seamless payroll and benefits experience for their employees while ensuring compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll processing with their outsourced payroll provider.
  • Review and approve payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage statutory payments (sick pay, maternity/paternity leave, deductions) in coordination with the provider.
  • Conduct regular payroll audits, resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure payroll aligns with company policies and legal obligations.
  • Handle employee pay queries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes, ensuring full compliance with tax and employment laws.
  • Produce insightful reports on payroll performance for senior management.
About You
  • Proven experience in payroll administration/management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and pension schemes.
  • Skilled in working with or managing outsourced payroll providers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies quickly.
  • Confident communicator, able to build strong relationships across the business.
  • Familiar with audit processes, compliance reporting, and payroll-related financial analysis.
