Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Payroll Assistant to join our client's team in Ipswich. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. The role involves assisting with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll and ensuring the accuracy of employee data.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll.
- Ensure accurate input of employee data, including starters, leavers, and changes.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with audits and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a payroll or finance support role.
- Familiarity with UK payroll legislation and HMRC processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
