Role Summary

This is an exciting and challenging position for a detailed oriented administrator to either create a career in pension's payroll processing or continue their existing career within this field with the market leader. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a clear focus on accuracy, ability to follow procedure and a good understanding of advanced excel activities such as: macros and formulae.

Please note that this role will require enhanced referencing (Met Police CTC Clearance, Armed Forces, BPSS and MyCSP, SC) and this process can take up to 3 months. Any individual who has been abroad for 1 month or longer in the past 3 years will unfortunately not pass this security and therefore we cannot accept applications on this basis.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide service to customers as per agreed SLA and KPIs
  • Provide support to colleagues on the team
  • Perform a series of pension payroll payment activities (full training will be provided) including:
    • Daily payroll bulk payment reconciliation using multiple payroll platforms
    • Lump Sums and Supplementary run payment reconciliation
    • Reconciliation of payments and other payroll outputs
    • UK, Irish and IOM Tax reporting
    • Basic parameter generation
    • BACS approval via multiple banking platforms
  • Monitoring, validating, and agreeing the monthly PAYE tax due for all clients
  • Liaise with third parties and provide information as required
  • Maintenance of data, filing and department records, checking and integrity of data
  • Process a wide range of routine and non-routine documentation within defined procedures
  • Identify potential problems with bulk transactions, reports, and systems
  • Assist in the compliance and maintenance of ISO standard by adhering to Quality Management System
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the immediate area of work responsibility in order to improve workflows and customer service
  • Carry out projects and ad-hoc actives as determined by line management

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:

  • Knowledge & previous experience of a payroll or financial Services environment
  • Knowledge of UK RTI Tax reporting is desirable but not essential together with knowledge of Irish and IOM Tax reporting.
  • Thorough and meticulous with extreme attention to detail
  • Self-disciplined to follow documented instructions
  • Data entry skills and experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues
  • Excellent communication skills responding to queries from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good interpersonal skills within a team
  • Experience maintaining data with a high level of data accuracy
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with regards to managing your own workload, with the ability to prioritise and hit extremely tight deadlines
  • Be aware of team workloads and readily available to assist colleagues
