Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: Office-based, with opportunities in the East Midlands and South West

Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join a growing and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a varied client portfolio, providing accurate and timely payroll services while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients
  • Collecting, verifying, and inputting pay data
  • Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory payments
  • Ensuring accurate PAYE, NI, pension, and statutory deductions
  • Processing BACS payments and distributing payslips/reports
  • Managing starters, leavers, and employee changes
  • Preparing and submitting RTI returns and other statutory filings
  • Generating payroll journals and reports for clients
  • Responding to client payroll queries
  • Liaising with pension providers and managing auto-enrolment
  • Supporting year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds

About You

  • Previous payroll administration experience (ideally in a bureau or accountancy setting)
  • Proficient in payroll software (BrightPay, Xero, Sage preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and numerical skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management ability
  • Effective communicator with a client-focused approach
  • Able to work independently and within a team
  • Experience with pensions and auto-enrolment processes
  • Committed to confidentiality and data protection
