Payments Administrator - Think Accountancy and Finance : Job Details

Think Accountancy & Finance are working with an award-winning, fast-growing global business in Chester to recruit a Payment & Payroll Administrator. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with an administrative background who enjoys working with numbers and is keen to build a career in payroll, pensions, and payments.

You'll join a supportive central payments team and play a vital role in ensuring subcontractors and employees are paid accurately and on time. It's a great step for someone who's analytical, confident with data, and looking to develop their expertise in areas like tax, pensions, and payroll compliance.

What you'll be doing

• Processing payments accurately and on time for employees and subcontractors

• Supporting payroll cycles, including pensions and statutory payments

• Handling queries on tax, pensions, and timesheets, becoming a trusted point of contact

• Working with agencies and internal teams to keep invoices, receipts, and payment statuses up to date

• Taking on wider administrative tasks to support the payments team

Who we're looking for

• Previous administration experience (ideally with some exposure to finance, payroll or HR)

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, enjoys working with data

• A logical problem-solver who is confident (or keen to learn) how to handle payroll, tax, and pension queries

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accurate with data entry

• A strong communicator who is organised and works well under pressure
