My client, an established and recognisable charity, is looking to recruit a Paralegal to help support the team. If selected you will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice and support across a broad range of legal matters that align with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage straightforward contractual matters, including reviewing and negotiating NDAs, data processing agreements, and services agreements. Provide support to senior legal team members on more complex contracts.
- Respond to general legal enquiries from internal departments.
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of training and guidance materials on legal and compliance topics.
- Input contract data into the organisation’s contract management system on behalf of the Legal Services Team.
- Promote legal processes and procedures across the organisation, including training colleagues on the contracts policy.
- Maintain a log of non-compliance with the contracts policy and report findings to the Director of Risk and Compliance.
- Ensure legal templates are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Conduct legal research and provide summaries or advice to support informed decision-making.
- Assist with litigation and disputes by compiling data and conducting evidential analysis for complex cases.
- Support audit processes and coordinate reports on contractual positions.
- Manage the electronic signing of contracts using the DocuSign platform.Maintain the trade mark register and liaise with external counsel on trade mark and intellectual property matters.Process invoices related to external legal services.
- Perform other duties as required by the role.
Qualifications (Desirable):
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal team in a relevant capacity.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts, including NDAs, consultancy, and services agreements.
- Solid understanding of contract law and commercial negotiations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Effective time management, including the ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Accuracy in record-keeping and the ability to develop appropriate tracking tools.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work areas.
- Confidence in taking ownership of tasks and making decisions independently when appropriate.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge in one or more of the following legal areas: data protection, IT, charity, intellectual property, employment.
- Experience using contract management systems, particularly Proactis.
