THE PACKAGING TECHNOLOGIST

Lead technical input on packaging development projects from concept and brief to commercialisation

Provide technical packaging expertise to support the factories and key supply chain objectives

Project manage the packaging work stream for specific packaging development and cost saving projects that involve multi-disciplinary project teams

Key aspects of the role will include:

• Ensure that packaging products meet set requirements and specifications
• Produce samples to try out different materials and designs
• Create effective partnerships with Marketing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production and Suppliers to enable flawless project delivery of key business objectives
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality
• Run packaging trials to check packaging for suitability and testing for performance under various conditions
• Manage artwork development across the business (PL & branded) by liaising with graphic designers to ensure correct development of artwork
• Identify and choose products and packaging solutions from suppliers

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Technical packaging development and project leadership experience with a track record of delivering results
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, specifically relationship building, facilitation, written / verbal communication.
• Creative approach to problem-solving
• Good attention to detail
• Good team-working abilities
• Good IT skills
