SPR Careers are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for an Outreach Family Support Worker within Children Services.Working instructionsHours: Full-Time, may need to work some Saturdays – 9 to 5Pay Rate: £14-£18 per hour.Location: LiverpoolWorking within a committed and supportive team, you will have a manageable workload and the opportunity to make a positive impact in shaping the lives of children and young people.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to identify the unique needs of children and families. Develop individualised support plans to address these needs.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention during crisis situations to ensure the safety of children and families.
  • Act as an advocate for families within the social services system, helping them navigate various resources and agencies to obtain necessary services.
  • Connect families with appropriate community resources, including educational, medical, housing, and counselling services.
  • Provide guidance and resources to parents to help them improve their parenting skills and create a safe and nurturing environment for their children.
  • Conduct home visits to assess living conditions and ensure children are in a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, assessments, and services provided, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to create a comprehensive support network for families.
Essential requirements: Enhanced DBS – update service if possible
  • We are looking for candidates with a demonstrated background in working with children or young people. This experience must include roles in social care, educational institutions, or voluntary organisations.
  • An essential component of this role is a solid grasp of child development and an understanding of the needs of children.
  • The ability to write clear and concise observations and reports is a crucial aspect of this position.
