Presales Engineer - OSS/BSS (Telecoms)

About the Role:
AxiaMetrics client are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Presales Engineer with a passion for telecommunications technology, particularly OSS (Operations Support Systems) and BSS (Business Support Systems). This role is ideal for candidates with a technical background who are eager to grow into a customer-facing solution consulting role. You will support the presales team in designing, presenting, and documenting technical solutions for telecom operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior presales consultants and solution architects in understanding customer requirements and designing OSS/BSS solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and technical discussions as a supporting team member.
- Prepare and update solution documentation, including presentations, diagrams, and RFx responses.
- Help configure and maintain demonstration environments used in presales engagements.
- Conduct research on telecom trends, competitive products, and emerging OSS/BSS technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, product management, and delivery to ensure solution feasibility and alignment.
- Maintain accurate records of presales activities and customer interactions in CRM tools.
The Ideal Skillset:
- 3+ years of experience in telecoms, IT, or software
- Functional understanding of OSS/BSS concepts such as CRM, billing, service provisioning, and network inventory.
- Strong interest in solution design, sales engineering, or customer-facing technology roles.
- Basic knowledge of telecom standards or frameworks (e.g., TM Forum, ITIL) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); familiarity with Visio or diagramming tools.
- Exposure to telecom platforms such as Amdocs, Netcracker, Nokia, or similar is an advantage.
- Knowledge of scripting or query languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) or APIs is a plus.
