Wealth Solutions – Operations Manager

Aon is looking for an Operations Manager to support our UK Wealth Solutions business.

Aon’s UK Wealth Solutions business primarily provides pension schemes, and those entities sponsoring pension schemes, with advice, administration and delegated investment services to enable the effective running of their pension schemes.

The role of the Operations Manager is to support the Operations Leader in delivering key business objectives.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually, and from either St Albans or the London office.

What the day will look like

  • Working directly with the UK Chief Operating Officer for Wealth Solutions, and the UK Operations Lead for Wealth Solutions to deliver key business objectives.
  • Contributing to the delivery of new initiatives including operational, redesign, technology, or regulatory change projects. Recent examples include: the FCA’s Operational resilience requirements; FCA’s IFPR requirements; moving to Workday for our finance system; Schrems 2 (data privacy) compliance; Smart Working
  • Lead & participate in change initiatives providing critical assessment, effective allocation of resources and delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Being a part of Working Groups or Design Committees on change projects ensuring a suitable structure for Wealth Solutions and ensuring we meet the project objectives
  • You will measure and handle operational risk within Wealth Solutions to ensure continuity of client service, things such as Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Supplier oversight.
  • Being responsible for overseeing the production of KPIs, producing slide decks for use in Exec meetings, Risk meetings and Board meetings and taking away actions from these meetings.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience as an Operations Manager, or similar, is critical for success in this role.
  • Experience of working with a Consulting business would be preferable, but is not crucial.
  • Excellent ability to work across multiple projects, manage and influence multiple partners and align senior leadership teams.
  • Knowledge of organisational efficiency and operations management.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles, with experience of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ability to identify issues and provide solutions in a timely manner considering individual competing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to assess and set key objectives
  • Client and service focused with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
