This is an exciting opportunity to join as an Operations Manager, where you would be orchestrating internal operations, during a period of growth and innovation for the business. The successful candidate will be working alongside the founders, being at the heart of their administrative effectiveness, taking charge of key operations.

Our client is an early-stage biotechnology startup merging artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced high-throughput TCR screening techniques to revolutionise the treatment of solid cancers. Their pioneering AI platform is poised to design high-affinity and specific T-cell-receptor (TCR) based therapies.

Description

• Fully managing our various Innovate UK grants, including engaging with Innovate UK monitoring officers and accountants, and preparing quarterly update reports to ensure claims are submitted and approved in a timely manner.
• Assisting with hiring, including drafting job descriptions and engaging with recruiters.
• Assisting with lab expansion, including engaging with lab space providers and managing lab expansion and move logistics.
• Preparing R&D tax credit reports, including engaging with accountants and preparing quarterly technical and cost claim reports.
• Organising team building activities and arranging conference attendance.

Profile

A successful Operations Manager should have:

• BSc in Biology, Immunology or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in grant management compliance.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• Experience in hiring and liaising with external recruiters.
• Experience in a multi-faceted operational role.
• Prior experience in an early-stage startup environment.
• Adept at meticulously tracking deadlines, managing documents, and handling detailed data related to grant submissions and reports.
• Ability to see the bigger picture, align grant opportunities with company goals, and plan for future funding possibilities.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Versatile and flexible to adapt to the company's evolving operational needs as the team grows.
