Hours: 37.5 hrs, predominantly Monday - Friday 10-6pm but flexibility needed for evening or weekend events. Additional hours may be necessary in the lead-up to events which are managed with TOIL.

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Events Manager to join our team and help achieve our vision. This exciting senior management role ensures seamless operations and the delivery of outstanding event experiences. The role focuses on the daily management and maintenance of the building and staff, as well as leading on private hires to support income generation. We are seeking a highly organised individual who can collaborate effectively with our small team and manage a varied workload with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Operations
Duty manager and key point of contact for the building, overseeing daily operations across all areas.
Operating, monitoring and maintaining security, lighting, equipment, furniture and building management procedures and systems.
Create a positive health and safety culture throughout the venue, taking responsibility for H&S policies, First Aid procedures, Risk Assessments and compliance with all security regulations and protocols.
Maintain the venue and artist studios to a high standard, ensuring cleanliness and organisation across all areas through effective coordination with cleaning staff.
Manage the freelance Front of House team overseeing recruitment, training, rota and supervision.
Supervise technicians and maintenance teams, ensuring they are well-briefed and effectively managed.
Manage Emergency Procedures implementing emergency protocols, including organising and training fire wardens, as well as conducting fire evacuation drills.
Maintain excellent levels of communication between clients, freelancers, studio holders and the wider team
Produce annual Operations and Events budget alongside quarterly Board Reports, and manage cash flow.
Events
Responsible for the smooth running of public programme events and venue hires, overseeing equipment and furniture set-up/pack down, staffing and H&S needs.
Organise and coordinate the ordering of stock, hire of sound equipment, furniture, and other venue resources as required.
Manage all aspects of venue private hire including handling enquiries, client liaison, site visits, insurance, booking schedules, invoicing, and contracts.
Develop comprehensive venue hire packages and actively market Staffordshire St. as a premier rental location maximising its visibility and appeal.
Responsible for widening the private hire client base and ensuring commercial income budgetary targets are met.
Maintain a professional, efficient, and welcoming approach to create a positive experience for clients and visitors.
Requirements:
Experience managing operations and/or facilities within a public building with good knowledge of health, safety and security policies and procedures
Experience in event management
Strong business acumen and experience setting budgets, negotiating contracts, and achieving financial targets
Superb written and verbal communication, and visitor experience skills
Strong organisational skills to manage task load effectively and support the wider team
A practical, hands-on approach
Able to work independently, and also inspire and motivate a team
Ability to set up and take down equipment and audio / visual systems
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple demands
A passion for art/music, and an understanding of the importance of culture
Salary : 40000 - 45000
