Job Description :

Our client, a highly regarded multi asset Investment firm are looking for an experience Operational Risk Manager to oversee operational risk globally and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks across the organisation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the firm’s Operational Risk Management framework, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose and aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Lead periodic reviews and updates of risk policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across different business units and functions.
  • Develop and implement Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and control testing frameworks to measure and manage operational risks.
  • Establish incident reporting and risk event analysis processes to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with process owners to enhance internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
  • Manage the business continuity planning (BCP) and crisis management initiatives.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate potential operational risk exposures.
  • Manage error/incident reporting process including reporting to management, remediation tracking and resolution of any issues.

Background & Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to foster a risk-aware culture.
  • You will have approximately 10 years’ experience of operating in an operational risk management role within the Asset Management or Wealth Management space.
  • Strong grasp of best practices in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, drive change and manage a diverse range of matters while collaborating with the wider business across jurisdictions and escalating issues when and if necessary.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders across all levels of the business and our external partners in an international environment.
  • Well-organised with excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills, able to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine interest in the financial services sector and a clear and articulate understanding of the regulatory environment and key risks impacting investment management businesses.
