We have a new and exciting role as a Business Continuity Manager to join us! This opportunity plays a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and testing the organisation's business continuity (BC) and mitigation frameworks.
Salary: Circa £80,000 - £85,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This role is a 2 year fixed term contract that focuses on ensuring the organisation can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents, safeguarding critical business functions, people, assets, and reputation. Additionally, the role involves engaging and influencing senior stakeholders across all Business Units & Functions to establish a unified approach to operational resilience. The Business Continuity Manager also participates in and influences industry working groups as necessary to enhance overall resilience strategies.
Drive and lead the company's resilience strategy from vision to execution:
Business Continuity Planning & Governance
Oversee business continuity systems and processes, identifying critical business impacts, setting recovery priorities and creating robust response plans
Update and maintain the yearly Horizon Scanning identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities to business operations
Lead the business impact analysis (BIA) and risk assessment processes across all business units
Coordinate the development and maintenance of business continuity and recovery plans
Establish and maintain the critical asset register, identify where required mitigation plans
Testing & Exercising
Design and deliver regular testing programs (tabletop exercises, scenario simulations, IT disaster recovery tests).
Create simple flow charts to aid incident management
Monitor outcomes and implement lessons learned from exercises and real incidents.
Identify and resolve compliance gaps swiftly to maintain operational readiness
Be the industrial lead supporting MoD exercises
Incident Management & Response
Act as a key member of the crisis management team during incidents.
Support leadership in coordinating response efforts, communication strategies, and recovery actions
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
Serve as the go-to expert for resilience and business continuity across the business
Work closely with senior management and various Heads of Department, e.g. IT, facilities, HR, Security, Procurement, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders to embed resilience planning
Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders (MoD)
Continuous Improvement
Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen resilience
Provide regular reporting to senior management and governance committees
What we're looking for from you:
Experience of business continuity systems and processes
Strong business acumen and knowledge across a variety of functions such as, Operations, Facilities, Security, Programmes, HR and Finance
Good research and data analysis abilities
Knowledge of the UK business' customers, both UK and International
Strong ability to draw conclusions, recommendations and provide synthesis of complex situation for consumption by senior leadership
Broad knowledge of the UK and international defence markets
Understanding of the strategic direction of the business to allow activities to be orientated
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Able to influence key stakeholders to drive a unified approach
Multi-tasking and prioritisation skills to meet deliverables and deadlines
The ability to effectively represent MBDA in external forums and act as a company ambassador.
