Our client is a recognised main contractor in the power sector with an unrivaled commitment to delivering an ever-improving service and product.They are currently searching for a dynamic Operational Delivery Director to maximize both service delivery and retain value throughout their project's. The successful candidate will report directly to the BUD, holding full accountability for the successful delivery of the P&L and associated revenue of allocated projects.

Collaborating closely with other departments across the Group, responsibilities will include effective resource planning to meet project deliverables as agreed with the Client. This involves recruitment, resource deployment, training & development, and day-to-day team management, encompassing performance management and appraisal.

The Role

• Drive Health and Safety excellence by making it a top priority in all activities and decisions.
• Take ownership of program deliverables, ensuring they align with the Group's strategic priorities and meet client requirements.
• Lead business development efforts to maintain a pipeline of high-quality work in line with the business plan.
• Direct the implementation of programs, ensuring personal accountability for outcomes and benefits realization.
• Manage program governance to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and values.
• Identify and manage key risks, adjusting project plans as needed to minimize impact on client delivery and project profitability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and managing expectations.
• Guide operational delivery teams through change processes and adjust program deliverables as needed to realize benefits.
• Provide concise progress reports to the Business Unit Director, suitable for board presentations, covering operational, safety, and financial performance.
• Establish clear objectives for the team aligned with project deliverables and monitor performance regularly.
• Take ownership of client relationships for operational delivery, including defining escalation procedures and serving as the senior point of contact for project-related issues.

The Person

You will have in depth knowledge of the Electrical industry preferably degree educated - including ICP’s/DNO’s/IDNO’s and other Power potential clients with a track record of delivering HV projects with great commercial success. With strong audience appropriate communication skills. Able to build effective and influential Client and stakeholder relationships.

Commercially astute, you must be able to work with Business complexity and conflicting demands to positively retain value. Being proactive and results orientated with a creative approach to problem solving whilst using calculated risk as a tool to overcome obstacles.

You will need to be a people manager with the ability to adapt your own style to maximise productivity of others within your direct area of responsibility and across the wider organisation. With a high drive for continuous improvement in ways of working with an organised and flexible approach to work.
