This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and proactive individual to play a key role in supporting early years education within a nurturing and inclusive school environment in St Austell.
About the Role:
As a Nursery Lead HLTA, you will be a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting pupils, teachers, and the wider curriculum. You will take responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities, supporting the professional work of teachers, and helping to shape a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Teachers:
- Assist in planning and delivering work programmes for individuals and groups.
- Deliver learning activities and adjust them to meet pupils’ needs.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, providing detailed feedback to teachers.
- Support assessment, marking, and reporting processes.
Support for the Curriculum:
- Deliver national strategies (e.g. literacy, numeracy) and support curriculum delivery.
- Promote the use of ICT and maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum frameworks.
- Organise and manage teaching resources and classroom environments.
Support for Pupils:
- Foster positive relationships and encourage cooperative learning.
- Monitor wellbeing, behaviour, and progress, reporting concerns as needed.
- Promote independence, inclusion, and self-esteem among pupils.
Support for the School:
- Supervise pupils during breaks and on educational visits.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding and health & safety policies.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in an early years setting.
- Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning.
