Are you looking for the perfect work life and summer holiday balance. Reed Education is seeking a Qualified Field Based Nursery Assistant to join our Nursery & Pre School teams over the summer. 

We have several temporary nursery assistant positions available throughout summer with the potential of it continuing through term time. We are looking for enthusiastic hardworking candidates who have a passion for teaching in the Early Years sector. The ideal candidate should be available 2-3 days a week

This role is essential in supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and will commence during the summer holidays. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and care of young children, helping to lay the foundation for their future education. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the delivery of planned educational activities and work programmes whilst promoting independent learning.
  • Provide support to the teacher in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Help to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Support children’s development through play-based learning.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, sharing outcomes with the teacher.
  • Assist with the supervision of children during activities and breaks.
  • Help to implement strategies to engage and support children with special educational needs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with parents, carers, and other professionals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience of working in a nursery.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, caring, and creative approach.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
