Non-contentious Construction Senior Associate - 8 PQE - Jameson Legal : Job Details

We've been exclusively instructed by a city construction/property boutique, which advises investors, developers, main contractors and sub-contractors on a range of property and construction issues. Due to sustained growth, they are now looking for a Senior Associate level non-contentious construction lawyer.

In order to be considered, you'll be a senior construction lawyer. You'll be an expert in the field, a good communicator, and adept at operating alone or as part of a team. The focus of this role is non-contentious work although will be opportunities to assist on disputes from time-to-time. As part of your day-to day, you will assist developers, contractors, and sub-contractors with procurement methods, drafting, amending and advising on various construction contractual issues (primarily in relation to JCT and NEC contracts).

In order to be considered for this role you will probably have:

• At least 8 years+ PQE as a non-contentious construction lawyer;
• A detailed understanding of construction and engineering contracts such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, IChemE and Logic;
• Experience in drafting warranties, appointments, novations, bonds and development agreements;
• A deep understanding of the construction supply chain;

As well as the above legal skills, you'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, strong time management skills (the ability to operate with urgency at pace), as well as strong skills in IT, matter finance, business development and team working.
