Role: Network SRE

Location: London

Salary: £250,000 - £300,000

Are you a leading Network SRE who understands how networks function at a fundamental level, considers how problems can be solved using a broad array of tools and techniques, and is not limited to using off-the-shelf or open-source components.

This high level Network SRE role will operate in a multi - skilled team, the role offers the opportunity to learn more about hardware, operating systems, the applications that run on them, Python/Go development, AWS and storage. In addition, you will work directly with teams responsible for developing and running their trading and post-trade systems among others. this is a very senior position and they t be a routing protocol, Linux and Python experts - this is very much the coding end of a Network SRE

Ideal Candidate:

  • Financial experience desirable (Trading)
  • Strong network engineering and architecture skills.
  • Knowledge of switch internals, Ethernet and IP routing, including:
  • VPN and tunnelling protocols (IPSec, GRE, MPLS).
  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF/ISIS, LDP/RSVP-TE).
  • Working with multiple network vendors and network operating systems such as IOS-XE, NX-OS, EOS, Junos.
  • Firewall configuration and debugging.
  • Network automation, management and monitoring via code, working with different API transports (CLI-based, RESTCONF, NETCONF, gNMI).
  • Ability to write code (not just scripts) in a language such as Python or Go.
  • Can identify and mitigate network risks and issues.
  • Very comfortable at the Linux command line.
  • Demonstrable ability to take on complicated projects with a minimum of oversight.
  • Proven ability and interest to work outside of your comfort zone.
  • Network automation, management and monitoring via code, working with different API transports (CLI-based, RESTCONF, NETCONF, gNMI).
  • Multicast (IGMP/PIM), IPsec tunnels, VPNs
  • Ability to write code (not just scripts) in a language such as Python or Go.
  • Can identify and mitigate network risks and issues.
  • Very comfortable at the Linux command line.
  • Demonstrable ability to take on complicated projects with a minimum of oversight.
  • Proven ability and interest to work outside of your comfort zone.
