Lead the charge in shaping the public image of the Royal British Legion as the National Public Relations Manager. Take the helm in overseeing the daily operations of our National PR team, ensuring they are aligned with the strategic objectives set by the Head of PR. Collaborate with the management team to craft coordinated, strategic approaches that contribute to the wider organisational goals of the Royal British Legion.

In this pivotal role, you will manage the National PR Team, setting priorities, evaluating progress, and ensuring a consistent focus on advancing the organisation's objectives. Navigate the complexities of the media landscape, negotiating and influencing senior journalists to both reactively protect and proactively enhance the reputation of our esteemed charity. Provide guidance to spokespeople, forge media partnerships, and maintain strong stakeholder relations at the national level.

This isn't just a PR position; it's an opportunity to play a key role in delivering impactful media events, from campaign launches to engagements with celebrities. Your qualifications should include a degree-level qualification or equivalent practical experience, coupled with recognised professional certifications in internal communications, journalism, English, or PR at a senior level.

Demonstrate your proven experience in national media relations, ability to formulate effective communication strategies, and passion for developing and managing staff within a national organisation. You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub
