Job Title: Model Based Systems EngineerLocation: Kidderminster, UK - Fully onsite Salary Band: £30,000 - £43,000About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Model Based Systems Engineer to join a leading engineering team working on innovative propulsion systems. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, supporting the delivery of a major Digital Engineering initiative.You will take ownership of multiple projects related to the adoption and integration of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, providing technical leadership, guidance, and training to colleagues. You'll work closely with engineers, technical authorities, and clients to ensure digital continuity across the full product lifecycle.Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain digital system models, ensuring accuracy and traceability.- Lead on MBSE best practice, offering guidance and training to the wider engineering team.- Establish and maintain single sources of truth for engineering data, ensuring digital continuity.- Integrate verification and testing processes into system models.- Support the adoption of new digital engineering tools and processes.- Facilitate collaboration and communication on system requirements across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Essential Skills & Experience- Proven experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, including use of SysML or similar methodologies.- Strong understanding of digital engineering concepts such as digital thread and digital continuity.- Experience with system modelling and validation in a complex engineering environment.- Ability to communicate complex technical information to a broad audience.- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead projects independently.Desirable- Knowledge of the defence industry or aerospace sector.- Experience with requirements management software.- Interest in advanced engineering, modelling, and simulation.Why Join Us?You'll be part of a high-calibre engineering team at the forefront of digital transformation in complex systems design.
