Mobile Software Engineer in Test - Jonathan Lee Recruitment : Job Details

We are partnering with a consultancy working with a Manchester based Automotive client looking to find a Mobile Software Engineer in Test with a passion for quality, and proven experience of automated software testing, is required for a variety of digital projects. We are looking for great engineers who have a passion for innovative problem solving and automation-first testing.

The day rate is upto 350 a day outside IR35

You will be required onsite in Manchester twice a week

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Software Test Engineer and working closely with other multi-disciplined engineers, you will be a valued member of the Global Digital Development Centre team, consistently delivering to challenging business objectives, with a focus on testability, robustness, security and performance for exciting new projects. You will work on real projects alongside experienced engineers and will be expected to take on some mentoring and coaching of less experienced test engineers in the lab as well as contributing to process improvements in the lab.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

A Senior Mobile Software Engineer in Test should have experience in automated software testing in an agile and DevOps culture, with deep knowledge of the STLC and a real passion for quality. Previous involvement in all stages of the software delivery lifecycle, a passion for mentoring and technical coaching of SEIT's and excellent verbal and written communication skills are ideal for success within this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

Experience of automation testing native mobile applications in multi-disciplinary teams

Experience in implementing mobile test strategies for faster feedback loops and to improve testing outcomes

Strong programming skills and experience with an OO language such as Python, JavaScript or Typescript

Experience with Appium, Webdriver.io and cross device testing on iOS and Android platforms

Experience of testing APIs and relational database technologies such as MySQL or similar

Experience of implementing and using cloud based device farms

Experienced advocate for practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming

Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)

Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques

Desirable:

Experience in BDD and creating tests using Gherkin syntax

Experience working with observability and monitoring tools such as Firebase or similar

Experience of non-functional testing in a mobile environment
