Mobile HGV Technician - Accord Resourcing : Job Details

Our client is a private independent HGV repair garage in Northampton. Currently they are looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic to join their busy friendly business.

Mon to Fri 8:30am to 5pm - 30 mins lunch

• Diagnostics & Repairs – Identifying faults in HGVs using diagnostic tools and carrying out repairs.
• Servicing – Performing routine maintenance (brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, etc.).
• Breakdown Assistance – Attending roadside callouts to get vehicles back on the road.
• Compliance Checks – Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA (UK) or equivalent road safety standards.
• Record Keeping – Completing job sheets, service reports, and sometimes using digital reporting systems.
• Customer Service – Communicating with drivers, fleet managers, and transport companies on repairs and costs.

• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of HGVs.
• Ability to work independently (since mobile techs often work alone).
• Problem-solving under pressure (especially during roadside breakdowns).
• Driving licence (often HGV licence preferred).
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
