Migration and Resettlement Service MARS Caseworker - West Sussex County Council : Job Details

The Communities Directorate incorporates a diverse range of services, several of which operate at scale and with countywide reach to deliver significant universal customer-facing functions. The directorate provides a vital service to maintain and support a diverse range of projects and programmes.

Salary: £30,296 to £33,024 per annum plus Crawley Weighting Allowance.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 30.06.2025

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday

Location: Crawley Library Southgate Ave, Crawley RH10 6HG. (Hybrid and Flexible Working) The role offers hybrid working arrangements where you will be working mostly from hotels, with the expectation to visit other Council locations as required. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.

Interview Date: Week commencing 08 April 2024

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

The Opportunity

We're looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join the Migration and Resettlement Service (MARS).

This is a varied and rewarding role which includes working directly with individuals and families from conflict affected countries to support their relocation to the UK and their time at residence in temporary accommodation.

You will ensure all refugees have full access to support that enables social integration, social connections, wellbeing, participation in communities and a sense of belonging, and to help adult refugees on their pathway to employment.

Working alongside other caseworkers, you will liase with key partners to help deliver successful outcome and keep up to date with national policy and practice.

You will maintain and monitor caseloads ensuring excellent case management and data recording. You will track the progress of refugee integration including early identification of any concerns that may need urgent or specialist support.

About You

The ideal candidate will have skills and knowledge of refugee resettlement in the UK. You will have experience working in and with communities and volunteers, understanding the barriers to integration.

You will have excellent organisational skills, be comfortable working independently and be at ease in this fast-paced, agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads, and priorities.

You should be educated to degree level or be able to evidence the equivalent level of significant experience.
