Media Relations Manager is required to help shape the public narrative around pensions reform and innovation. This interim role offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic media engagement during a pivotal time for the industry, with the launch of a new Pensions Commission and Pension Schemes Bill. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and creative Media Relations Manager to join our busy Public Affairs team.Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex policy into clear, engaging content across multiple communication channels for diverse audiences
- Represent the organisation confidently in media interactions, telling compelling stories about protecting savers, improving the pensions' system, and supporting innovation.
- Inspire high performance as an experienced people manager, aligned with corporate values. Line management of three press officers and one speechwriter
- Monitor news and evaluate the impact of media activity effectively.
- Bring senior media relations experience, ideally from government or the pensions/financial sectors.
- Demonstrate proven success in influencing national and trade media.
- Engage strategically across all levels of the organisation, fostering collaboration and influence.
- Lead transformational change with an inspirational and values-driven approach.
- Align with and promote the organisation's culture and values.
- Build strong relationships with national and trade media, delivering impactful stories.
- Monitor news trends and evaluate media impact to inform future strategy.
What You'll Bring
