This would suit a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience supervising installation and maintenance projects in the construction industry. We’re looking for a capable problem solver who can organise and take ownership!

The Role:You will oversee the installation work on sites across the Midlands ensuring that all products are built/assembled in compliance with designs and specifications. You will be required to manage the day-to-day activities of the operational staff and external subcontractors, whilst also contributing to the installation of the equipment.

More details - the Day-to-Day:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to operational staff, directing and monitoring their activities effectively.
  • Liaising with team members, Clients, and project managers/engineers and fitters
  • Ensure Compliance with Safety Practices
  • Fitting and assembly of machine parts to engineering drawings
  • Fitting of subassembly parts using engineering drawings
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the build against required delivery dates
  • Safe and secure storage of parts and other consumables, reporting component shortages and making recommendations for consumables
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition in accordance with company and quality standards
  • Continuously monitor part delivery and quality
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to
  • Demonstrate use of equipment and/or components as required
  • Perform installation, commissioning and other service duties as required, on or off-site
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all paperwork in accordance with company policy

The Person:

  • Experience in planning of installation and maintenance projects and inspecting mechanical works installations
  • Experience of working the UK Construction industry in a supervisory capacity
  • Fantastic problem solving abilities
  • Experience in a mechanical or engineering environment.
  • Able to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to co-ordinate activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work calmly under pressure and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, self-motivate, able to take ownership and act on own initiative.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
