Role: Shift Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Double Day Shift (6.00am - 2.00pm / 2.00pm - 10.00pm) Monday - Friday

Location: Hertfordshire

I am working with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer who is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their busy engineering team. This is an exciting time to be joining this business as they are about to commence a period of expansion which will see the site significantly increase its output.

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be primarily involved in the day-to-day maintenance (PPM and reactive) of pharmaceutical production equipment in a highspeed manufacturing environment. There will also be an opportunity get involved with project work associated with the expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and packaging equipment to meet operational targets.

Modification to plant, manufacturing equipment and services.

Develop and update maintenance procedures and schedules.

Plan and execute shutdowns, order parts, and assess critical spares.

Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Operate and maintain CMMS.

Participate in commissioning and advise on equipment selection.

Opportunities to work on multiple projects in Production and manufacturing

Skills & Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3).

Strong fault-finding and documentation skills.

Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food manufacturing)

Experience with Solid Dose manufacturing equipment (eg Granulation, Coating, Fluid Bed driers, compression) is highly desirable
