Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

• Annual Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 DOE + Overtime & Bonus
• Location: Crawley, West Sussex
• Job Type: Full-time

Join a long-established manufacture known for its high standards in food and packaging. We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to enhance our maintenance team and contribute to our strong investment in staff development.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, gearbox, conveyor, bearing, and belt.
• Support machine strip down, rebuilds, and occasional retrofit/upgrades.
• Maintain detailed logs, manage spare parts inventory, and help improve machine uptime and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified or experienced as a mechanical/multiskilled engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent apprenticeship).
• Strong background in manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or engineering environments.
• Hands-on, proactive, with excellent fault-finding skills.
• Flexible, with openness to occasional weekend/overtime work; potential earnings exceeding £55k.
